It started as a typical Fourth of July weekend for Cassandra Cruz.  Then, she learned of the death of America's greatest hero, Commander.  Before she knew it, chaos ensued and she was fighting to survive against a gang of supervillains called Renegades.  What were once minor threats to society were now more organized...and more powerful.  Their violent revolution would engulf the world and drag Cassandra out of her ordinary life and into the life of an Allegiant.

The world of Allegiant is one shaped by the existence of "Ultras" (super-powered humans).  Some became athletes while others choose a life of crime.  The Allegiant are those who swear to defend their nation and don the colors and symbols of their flag.
